We held our wedding at Altskeith Country House recently and had a wonderful time. We let the house for three nights which made the event feel very personal because our family could stay with us for the whole weekend. The wedding day itself was beautiful and relaxed and we also enjoyed being able to hold a BBQ the next day with remaining family and friends. Alison and Jas were a great help with making the wedding day run smoothly and they were very accommodating in allowing us to add personal touches to the day. We were lucky with the weather and had bright sunshine to show off the surroundings but the scenery and setting would have been spectacular whatever the weather. Stayed April 2015, travelled with family
My husband and I were looking for a place to stay in the Trossachs for one night on a long drive from the Isle of Skye to Edinburgh. We were very lucky to have found Altskeith. The house is often used as a wedding venue on the weekends – as it should be because it is a beautiful setting for a wedding on Loch Ard. We drove in on a Wednesday evening and found that we had the house to ourselves. It was so restful and romantic! Alison and Yas are wonderful hosts – they have really put in a lot of heart into restoring the house. Alison provided us with coffee, tea and scones in front of a fire in the main room when we arrived. We enjoyed a lovely walk around the lake and the property. The rest of the evening we sat reading by the fire in the main room. When I woke in the morning I was so rested I forgot where I was and thought I was in a castle! Yas cooked us a tasty full Scottish breakfast. Please consider Altskeith for a romantic getaway by the lake. Would highly recommend! Pam and Brandon
We stayed and got married at Altskeith on the 01 November. What can I say apart from Wow. The house is fantastic, every room is done to such a high standard and the location is out of this world. We filled every bedroom up with friends and family and on the Friday and Sunday had a fantastic time celebrating with them in the massive lounge and dining room!!! Our wedding day could not have gone any better, Alison and Yas were on hand to ensure everything run smoothly and smoothly it run! It was one of he best days of our lives and in an unforgettable location. Thank you Alison and Yas, we can’t wait to come back!
We stayed in Altskeith house for a week, and held our wedding at the house. The venue was fantastic as we could have our families staying with us for a few days before and after the wedding. The setting on Loch Ard is absolutely stunning, and the house has been renovated beautifully.
The owners, Alison and Yas, are two of the nicest people you could meet. They will stop at nothing to make your stay in the house special, and if you are planning on holding an event at Altskeith, I can guarantee that they will do everything in their power to make it an unforgettable experience (watch out though-they may encourage you to get married in the stream!).
All of our guests had a fantastic time and are already encouraging us to arrange a 1st anniversary knees up at Altskeith house.
We stayed here for a week at the start of October, and in amongst it we got married. The setting is outstanding, stunning backdrop! The house is finished to a very high standard inside and out. We have followed the progress of this house from a very early stage and seen what it has been transformed into. It is an absolute credit to Alison & Yas who have worked very very hard to make it what it is. And the attention they pay, especially if you get married here is a different level. Not one thing is overlooked and we had a fantastic wedding followed by a very relaxing holiday. We had guests from all over the UK come to our wedding and they could not believe what they were witnessing. The change in the colours from the rain in the morning to the sunshine in the afternoon was spectacular, ideal for our pics, and blowing the guests away with the changing scenery, many of whom had not visited rural Scotland before. The wood burning stove cracking away whilst you sip some wine, stretched out on one of the huge sofas in the lounge is a different level.
Thank you for such an enjoyable stay and an unforgettable day!!
Go on, get it booked!! If your getting married nowhere comes close!! If it’s a relaxing break away from it all, here it is.
Well done Alison & Yas.
Our daughter’s wedding was held at Altskeith on Saturday 4 October. They had booked the house for a full week, and we decided to make the most of it by going up to Loch Ard 2 days before the wedding itself. The whole house has been refurbished and looks amazing, the atmosphere is so homely and welcoming. The day of the wedding was fabulous, absolutely everything went without a hitch and no visible signs of stress from anyone involved in the organisation of the day. Everybody had a wonderful time, thanks entirely to the owners Alison and Yaz. They made everything run like clockwork, even managed to bring out the sun for a while, allowing the actual ceremony to take place outside beside the water feature, so pretty, can’t wait to see the official wedding photographs. Our thanks must go to Alison and Yaz for making Lynne and Innes’ day so special for them. Fabulous!!!!!!
