“A spectacular, yet laid-back venue for our wedding!”

Where to start. I first met Alison at a wedding show in Glasgow around two years ago, the only stand that really caught my eye due to the waterside location of the house. When my now-husband and I turned up to visit, we LOVED the setting, but less so the interior of the house … at that point, Alison and Yas had just bought the place.
But I remember telling Alison that our dream was to get married next to a loch (seemed apt for a couple who met playing underwater hockey), and she replied saying to trust her and Yas … that it would change dramatically before our big day arrived.
So trust them we did … and boy are we glad. The wedding took place this weekend and the feedback from our 56 guests across the board has been OUTSTANDING! “The venue is stunning, how on earth did you find it”, “Best wedding I’ve ever been to”, “So relaxed and laid back” are amongst feedback received.
We booked Altskeith for the whole week – using the first three days to enjoy some alone time and then putting up close friends and family for the wedding weekend and we actually cried upon departure. The newly landscaped stream with terrace area was a spectacular setting for the ceremony with views over Ben Lomond, and the new function room, complete with full wall to wall glass windows provided the same views as the sun went down and we enjoyed our meal. WOW!
The rooms have been done up to a spectacular standard, with stunning bathrooms (with heated flooring which my Dad loved), quality linens and guests were even provided towels, wee soap bars from Arran Aromatics and cotton wools, etc. A really nice touch. Think everyone staying there felt like they were staying in the lap of luxury for a weekend which added to the overall enjoyment.
Then there’s Alison and Yas themselves, without whom, I truly do not believe we would have had the wedding we did. It was unbelievably stress free and I believe this came down to Alison on front of house who managed the coming and going of vendors on the day, making sure everything ran as close to schedule as possible and taking any potential stresses out of our hands to allow us enjoy getting married to each other and being with our guests. Yas is a powerhouse, setting up our tables, moving chairs about, manning the bar until the wee small hours…nothing was too much hassle for these two – they are worth their weight in gold!
Thanks Altskeith for a truly magnificent week that we’ll never forget – see you for the 10 year anniversary party? … 😀
