10 of the best things to do

1. We are located within Queen Elizabeth Forest. A perfect location for cycling or walking. Hire a bike from Aberfoyle Bike Hire in the village. Cycle the 10-mile route around Loch Ard.

2. Within walking distance of the house is Go Country Watersports Park. Enjoy an afternoon on the inflatables, kayak across the Loch, or take part in archery, abseiling, cliff jumping, and gorge walking.

3. A round of golf at the 18-hole golf course at Aberfoyle Golf Course.

4. Spend the afternoon swinging through the trees at Go Ape. A popular zip wire.

5. Take the boat over to Inchahome Priory. An idyllically situated Augustinian monastery dating from 1328.

6. Clay Pigeon Shooting at the local farm within walking distance of Altskeith Country House at Ledard Farm

7. Book a boat cruise on Loch Katrine.

8. Sample some great Scottish whisky at Deanston Distillery or Glengoyne Distillery.

9. Hire a boat and fish on Lake of Menteith.

10. Visit the historic Stirling Castle and Wallace Monument.
